At Local Citation Services, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors and clients. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal and business data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data We Collect
When you interact with our website or purchase our services, we collect the following information:
- Identity & Contact Data: Name, email address, phone number, and company name.
- Business Profile Data (Public Assets): Business name, physical address, phone number, website URL, company descriptions, operating hours, logo, and brand images supplied via our onboarding form.
- Transaction Data: Details about payments made by you through Stripe. Note: We do not store financial card data.
2. How We Use Your Data
We process your information based on contractual necessity to fulfill the services you buy from us. Specifically, we use your data to:
- Process payments securely via Stripe.
- Manually register accounts and submit your business details to public UK directories as requested.
- Communicate with you regarding order updates, clarifications, and delivery reports.
- Comply with legal and accounting requirements under UK tax law.
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosures
To deliver our services, your business data must be shared in the following ways:
- Public Directories: By buying our citation service, you explicitly authorize us to publish your business details (NAP data, images, descriptions) across public third-party directory websites (such as Yell, Yelp, Scoot, etc.).
- Service Providers: We share necessary transaction info with Stripe (payment processor) and our secure form platform (Tally.so / Typeform) to collect and automate your order details safely.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by UK law enforcement or regulatory bodies.
4. Data Security
We implement strict operational security measures to prevent your data from being accidentally lost, accessed, altered, or disclosed in an unauthorized way.

- Access to your data spreadsheets is strictly restricted to our data-entry specialists.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal transaction records for as long as required by UK tax law (typically 6 years). The copy of your onboarding details and final report spreadsheet is kept in our secure drive files for up to 12 months post-delivery to provide customer support or duplicate resolution, after which it is securely archived or deleted.

As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to rectification of inaccurate data.
